Jati Diri Orang Papua Tidak Boleh Hilang
Satu kali, ada satu pemuda dari kampung di daerah Papua, dia pigi jalan-jalan ke jawa, tra lama juga, Cuma tiga bulan saja. Trus dia bale ke dia pu kampung lagi. Pemuda itu dia pu nama Yanare. Lucunya, biarpun tiga bulan saja di Jawa tapi dia su lupa dia pu bahasa daerah dan bahasa malayu Papua. Buktinya waktu dia sampe di dia pu kampung, dia bicara pake rem-rem Jawa saja.
“Maap looh, bukannya sombong nih, tapi gue mau ketemu nyokap an bokap gue dulu deh, karena gue udah rindu buanget nih,” begitu dia bilang sama dia pu teman-teman yang dia ketemu di jalan.
Dia pu teman dorang sampe baku liat dan geleng-geleng kepala, trus dorang kase komentar macam-macam. Ada yang bilang, “boboooo, bacam betul saja, baru tiga bulan saja dia pigi ke tanah Jawa mo, eeeh tau-tau dia su lupa kitorang pu bahasa dan bicara bahasa jawa segala, apalagi kalau dia pigi satu dua tahun, dia pu kulit dan rambut juga ikut berubah ka apa seperti orang Jawa, hehehehehe,”
Kejadian ini lama-lama menjadi mop di kampungnya dan kampung-kampung lain, malahan sampe di telinga pace Yumbunikloge juga. Tapi waktu dengar itu pace Yumbunikloge dia tara begitu percaya, sampe akhirnya dia sendiri pigi ketemu Yanare di dorang pu rumah. Pas waktu itu Yanare deng dia pu orang tua baru selesai makan dan Yanare yang pimpin doa tutup makan.
“Gusti Aullah, Makasih deh, atas makanan yang telah kami cicipi ini looooh, moga makanan ini memberi kekuatan lahir dan batin deh, amin.”
Dengar langsung begitu pacee Yumbunikloge langsung percaya, akhirnya dia permisi masuk rumah duduk di rumah itu dengan dorang sambil bicara dan kase nasehat sama dorang. Pace Yumbunikloge bicara cukup panjang tapi intinya begini.
Bahwa kitorang pu anak cucu Papua sekarang, banyak yang su lupa kitorang pu bahasa daerah masing-masing, tapi anehnya dorang bisa omong bahasa Jawa, Manado, Ambon, dll. Sedangkan kitorang pu bahasa daerah dan kitorang pu bahasa Malayu Papua dorang tara mau pake, alasannya karena malu Wah, ini benar-benar menyedihkan sekali, karena lama-lama, kitorang pu jati diri sebagai orang Papua dan kitorang pu rasa percaya diri, kebanggaan, serta kitorang pu keberadaan sebagai orang Papua akan musnah.
Akhirnya yang akan muncul di Papua adalah, generasi yang kejawa-jawaan, kemenado-menadoan, kebugis-bugisan, kemakate-makatean (makasar, red), dan lain-lain.
Kalau ini benar-benar terjadi, Soekarno, Presiden pertama RI dia akan menangis dalam kuburan sana, karena dia pu Bhineka Tunggal Ika atau berbeda-beda tapi tetap satu tidak tercapai.
Jadi, kepada setiap orang tua di rumah masing-masing, guru-guru di sekolah-sekolah, dan bahkan Mahasiswa di kampus Pace Yumbunikloge pesan, “ kita harus belajar dan juga harus kase ajar kitorang pu anak-anak, bahasa daerah dan juga kebudayaan masing-masing daerah supaya jati diri kita sebagai orang Papua, keberadaan, Kebanggaan, rasa percaya diri sebagai orang Papua harus dipertahankan sampai dunia kiamat.”



Dari cerita singkat diatas kita dapat simpulkan bahwa: Dimanapun kita berada, apapun pekerjaan kita; kita harus sesering mungkin berkomunikasi dengan menggunakan bahasa daerah kita. dengan demikian jatidiri kita dapat kita pertahanakan.
